Energy Exchange

So you’re interested in Energy Exchange?

We have Energy Exchange positions at both of our studios, Modo Yoga Uptown and Modo Yoga St. Clair West

What is the program all about?
Energy Exchangers (EEs) commit to at least one 4 hour shift per week doing a variety of tasks such as cleaning, interacting with students in the community.

In return for your hard work, our trades are allowed to take unlimited classes at Modo Yoga Uptown & Modo Yoga St. Clair West!

Compared to other yoga studios with similar programs, this is a generous trade-off, as many other studios allow one free class for each shift-hour completed.

What will I actually be doing?
The EEs main duties involve doing laundry, vacuuming, cleaning the showers, mopping the practice rooms, cleaning the washrooms, and other ‘general cleaning’ duties — so be sure you love to clean! You should be the kind of person who gets a real kick out of a clean apartment. After time, other duties like assisting with sign-in, greeting students, touring new students, administrative assistance, and room monitoring will become a part of your repertoire.

What are the expectations of being in the Energy Exchange program?
We expect that upon application you have been <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>practicing at one of our locations for at least one month. We want to be sure that you love our studio and our vibe before you make a commitment to us, and we make a commitment to you!

If accepted into the program, new EEs are on a <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>one-month probation period. This is to see if the new members of the program are a good fit at the studio, and if the EE finds this commitment manageable. Thereafter, we ask EEs to commit to weekly 4 hour shift (includes a practice) for a minimum three-month period.

Having an Energy Exchange shift should be treated like a <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>regular paying job; EEs are expected to show up on time each week for shift. If you can’t come in for some reason (illness, out of town) then it’s your responsibility to have it covered and to let your EE Leader know. To keep the good karma going: usually if someone covers you, you offer to cover one of their shifts!

Apply only if you can see yourself making the time for this shift each week for at least a 6-month block of time. If you have any possibility of immediate future endeavors that would interfere with your potential shift, please be honest about it. It is better that we work something out that will be mutually beneficial.

How do I become a part of this ridiculously awesome team?
