Sangha-Zhen: Yin Yoga & Acupuncture

“Sangha” is a Sanskrit word meaning “community”. “Zhen” is the Chinese term for “acupuncture’. This workshop brings the best of both concepts together, beginning with a gentle sequence of yin postures followed by a community-style acupuncture treatment to achieve balance and harmony in the body and mind.

Details:

The workshop will run in roughly two parts:
1. A 45-minute full-body sequence of yin yoga postures
2. A 20-minute community-style acupuncture treatment.

The acupuncture portion will consist of 5 acupuncture needles: one on each hand/foot, and one on the head, chest, or abdomen, while the participant is in a supported rest pose. The acupuncturist will spend a few moments with each participant, taking their pulse and examining their tongue, inserting the needles, and then moving onto the next participant. Although the treatments are all based on a fixed protocol to harmonize and balance the body and mind, some individual changes in point selection will be made by the acupuncturist with the participant during this brief diagnosis. Insurance receipts will be provided for the acupuncture portion of the workshop, for a flat amount of $30 per participant.
